Martin Training is much more than just Project Management.

Martin Training has been offering Project Management development courses for more than ten years as it is a competency every employee needs. But it’s not the only one.  In order for organizations to operate in the most optimize way and fully realize their strategic vision, continued development in critical skills are required.  So, to support our clients with all their development needs, we are a full-service management training company that develops skills needed at every level within your organization – from participating on a team and empowering yourself to decomposing strategy and meeting leadership accountability.

in these core areas:

Project Management:

This curriculum is designed for anyone who needs to lead teams to create deliverables. WE offer workshops that target those new to project management and the most experienced project manager.  Every program is PMBOK aligned and provides PDU credits towards certification requirements towards PMP certification.  The Project Management Curriculum also addresses the governance skills needed to be successful including Project Portfolio Management and Sponsoring a Project and the advanced skills for experienced managers. Matrix Management:

Every organization, whether formally or not is considered a matrix. This means that you operate in two dimensions - The Horizontal Dimension which is customers and suppliers (internal and external) and the Vertical Dimension which is bosses and subordinates. The Martin Training Associates Matrix Management curriculum focuses on building awareness needed to structure, govern and operate in a matrix, implement the right types of standards and systems (goal setting, performance management, project management, accountability) that make the matrix work effectively and identify the skills required by managers and specialists to work cross-functionally in this environment. Accountability:

Accountability is the purview of every manager in an organization. It is the commitment managers make to ensure that every goal in the organization receives the attention (resources and support) it needs to be achieved. The Accountability curriculum offered by MTA is one that focuses building knowledge about accountability and the two types (Individual and Organizational), debunking old assumptions about how organizations work, educating leaders how to use Accountability to execute goals and building the commitment among your management teams for using a new system for creating what we call a Culture of Success. Team Development:

Project Teams, Management Teams, Department Teams. Everything we do often requires the gathering of a team. Regardless of whether a Team leader has the authority over the resources on the team or not, certain skills are required to create high-performing teams. Our Team Development curriculum teaches participants how to use collaborative tools to accomplish goals, deal with conflict resolution, motivate team individuals and facilitate the team through processes that accomplish team goals.

Management Skills:

Managers have an important job in the organization. It is through them that goals are achieved, people are managed and developed, and resources are allocated. Often, we promote specialists to management positions without developing core management skills to be a success. In addition to being Project Management, Matrix Management, Team Development and Accountability, managers should also be able to deal with difficult employees, motivate employees to perform, lead effective meetings, and manage change.

IT Management:

Technology and the business go hand in hand. Often IT Strategy will be the catalyst for a strategic plan. The difference between good IT Management and poor IT Management is the difference between the whole organizations meeting their strategic goals versus one or two areas. Our IT Management curriculum includes; creating IT Strategy alignment, Portfolio Management, Project Interventions, Project Planning.
