Project Sponsorship and Portfolio Management
Sponsorship and Portfolio Management Workshop Overview
In order to create successful projects, an organization needs an effective project system. This includes a management team that functions as sponsors, a common project management methodology and a senior leader team that steers the portfolio of projects.
This two-day workshop introduces managers to all components of the project system. One and a half days are spent on the role of the project sponsor and duplicate the Sponsoring a Project workshop. The last half day is spent on project steering (portfolio management). Managers experience through a game simulation what happens in an organization when there is no portfolio management system. They then walk through the basics of creating a steering process for the portfolio and the day ends with a simulation of using a portfolio management system to oversee all the projects of the organization.
This is a great workshop for introducing project management into an organization that does not yet have a project management discipline in place.
